PALINKERIE’S 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY PARTY

This is the official page of the Palinkerie 10-Year Anniversary Party. We’re so excited to have you join us! Read on for more details about the event, plus the weekend activities we’re planning for all of our out-of-town guests.

THE PARTY: DETAILS

The party will be held on Saturday, June 29 on the Sky Garden of the Mystery Hotel in Budapest. Built by Hungarian Freemasons in the 19th century, the historic Mystery Hotel is, according to its website, “shrouded with legends, secrets, and optical illusions” … perfect for our night to remember in the Hungarian capital’s 6th District!

Festivities kick off at 5 pm, and the party will run until 11 pm. We will have a light dinner, watch the sunset, feast on Hungarian pastries, and enjoy wines from all of Palinkerie’s amazing wineries. Expect to meet your favorite winemaker, develop an appreciation for paprika, and fall in love with Budapest, all in the same night.

At 11 pm, there will be an afterparty at a nearby location in the 6th District.

THE WEEKEND ACTIVITIES

For those out-of-town guests who are available on Friday and/or Sunday, you are invited to join us for day trips to Lake Balaton and Somló on Friday, and to Tokaj on Sunday.

FRIDAY, JUNE 28: A TRIP WEST

What to expect: we will depart from the Mystery Hotel mid-morning for a day of wine-tasting, winery-touring and exploring western Hungary. Destinations will include legendary Somló hill and the scenic hillsides of northern Lake Balaton. We will plan to return to the Mystery Hotel around 10 pm.

SUNDAY, JUNE 30: A DAY IN TOKAJ

What to expect: we will depart from the Mystery Hotel around 11:00 for Tokaj. We will make a few winery visits, and then retire to Lenkey’s winery in Mád for a big afternoon feast. Traditional home-cooked Hungarian fare will be served alongside epic aged sweet and dry Tokaji wines and electronic beats. We will plan to return to the Mystery Hotel around 10 pm.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFO

Dress code: cocktail attire, high-Pesti grófság, sparkle-ing wine

Plus one policy: we will try to grant all requests for plus ones, but please check with me (Athena) to confirm that we have the space.

Accommodation: if you would like to stay at the Mystery Hotel on the night of the 29th, we have reserved a block of Superior rooms for 184 EUR/night (including breakfast). Please let us know if you are interested, and we can connect you with the hotel to make the reservation. Otherwise, I recommend finding an Airbnb nearby - they are nice and generally very affordable in Budapest.
