Jász Laci

BAZALT HÁRSLEVELŰ

2017

The Bazalt Hárslevelű is a single vineyard white wine from the black basalt soils of Jász Laci's small estate on Somló. Spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts, and aging in stainless steel. The wine was on the skins overnight, and remained on the lees for 6 months. This is a stellar example of an aged Somlói Hárslevelű, with its honeyed aromatics and long finish. Peach, quince and dried apricot on the nose, with honey, salt and Szechuan peppercorn on the palate. Organic, unfined, low sulfur added.

From Wine Enthusiast: “This light amber wine has a nose of peach pie and toasted almonds. It is full-textured, offering vivid acidity and dried apricot, white peach, Gala apple, white chocolate and lemongrass flavors. A note of salted almond toffee endures on the palate.” (92 Points, December 2023)
