Jackfall Winery
KÉKFRANKOS
2015
Jackfall is the German name for Kisjakabfalva, the small village in Villány that is home to the Jackfall winery. Kékfrankos (Blaufränkisch) is native to Hungary, and is the country's most widely-planted red wine grape. Villány is the warmest region in Hungary, with a sub-mediterranean climate and loess soil with limestone. 6 months aging in 500 L used Hungarian oak (70%) and stainless steel tanks (30%). This wine is medium-bodied, with tons of supple black currant, ripe cherry, and a clean green herbal finish. Spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts. Low sulfites added.
