KISHEGY

2007

Kishegy is one of Tokaj's most historic vineyards - there are written records of its plantings (and its capacity for excellent wines) dating back to 1686. The vineyard is famous for its aszús and dry whites. The 2007 vintage was one of the best of the decade. Fermentation was spontaneous with native yeasts, without temperature control, in 500 L Hungarian oak barrels. Aging in Hungarian oak for 12 months. 1648 bottles produced. 56% Hárslevelű, 44% Furmint. Honey-hued, with flavors like quince, apricot, lemon and limestone, complemented by a long herbal finish.
