Lenkey Pincészet

KISHEGY HÁRSLEVELŰ

2006

This is the “Tiz év után” (“Ten Years Later”) Kishegy Hárslevelű, one of the single vineyard wines from the 2006 vintage that Lenkey held back for 10 years before release. The yield control in 2006 was Lenkey’s most rigorous to date, with only 6-8 bunches selected per vine.

Kishegy is one of the original first class Tokaji vineyard sites, and is among Tokaj's most historic vineyards. There are written records of its plantings (and its capacity for excellent wines) dating back to 1686. The soil is volcanic red clay with detritus.

This wine was spontaneously fermented and aged in 500 L used Hungarian oak for 7 months, and in bottle for an additional 14 years. Powerful flavors of linden honey, pollen, cloves, and dried orange peel. Aromatic, with a long powerfully mineral finish. Practicing organic, vegan.
