Horst Hummel is a well-respected organic and biodynamic winemaker in Hungary’s southernmost wine region, Villány. Although he is from Germany, his forefathers were Swabian winemakers who lived in the Austro-Hungarian Empire since the 18th century.

Portugieser displays its capacity for making serious, age-worthy wines in this single vineyard selection from the Nagytótfalu vineyard. Aromas of violet on the nose. Flavors of muddled plum and pepper are harmonious with spice and minerality on the palate. Long and transparent. The wine was spontaneously fermented in open vats and aged in stainless steel tanks until release. Unfiltered and unfined.
